About the Role
At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centered care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. Working within the mission, vision, values, and person-centered philosophy of the Agency, the Office Coordinator plays a vital part in providing exceptional administrative and reception support, both in person and over the phone at the Richmond office. The successful candidate will use their excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and friendly demeanor to create a positive experience for clients, staff, and visitors This role is primarily responsible for administrative support to the Counselling & Trauma, Victim Services, and FSEAP Programs including a variety of administrative, clerical, and basic financial tasks, which vary throughout the year, depending on ongoing projects and program/Agency needs. This role actively supports the Agency’s awareness and goals around Diversity and Inclusion.

Salary:GS7 Step 1, 24.33/ hour

What you bring
Education, Training, Experience
Minimum of a Grade 12 diploma, plus 2-years of post secondary education in business or administration
3-years office coordination experience and administrative experience
Previous experience working in a non-profit is an asset

Strong communication/interpersonal skills
Kind, calm and welcoming manner and ability to relate well to children, youth and adults, clients and professionals, in person and on the phone, while working in a fast paced environment
