Duties
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare different types of meat using precise knife techniques and meat-cutting equipment
- Package meat products efficiently while ensuring proper labeling and presentation
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols throughout all food handling processes
- Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, supporting overall food production activities
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about meat products and offering recommendations when needed
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and workstations are clean, sanitized, and well-organized at all times
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, monitoring product freshness, and notifying supervisors of low supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, meat cutting, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knife skills with the ability to cut meats precisely and efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with packaging meats for retail or wholesale distribution
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Prior kitchen or restaurant experience is highly desirable but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
