We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician/Handy Man to help us maintain the physical plant, equipment, and grounds of our facility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the facility, equipment, and systems operate safely and efficiently. This role is vital to upholding compliance standards, infection control protocols, and quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily building inspections and perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment (e.g., boilers, water heaters, generators)
- Ensure compliance with life safety codes, OSHA standards, and fire safety regulations
- Maintain logs of repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance tasks
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, including after-hours on-call rotation
- Assist in preparing rooms for new residents and maintaining cleanliness and safety in shared areas
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed for large-scale repairs or installations
- Support infection control and environmental safety initiatives throughout the facility
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and grounds upkeep seasonally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1–2 years maintenance experience in a healthcare, senior living, or commercial setting preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions
- Familiarity with state and federal building and life safety codes (preferred)
- Must pass a background check and meet all applicable health screening requirements (e.g., TB, COVID-19)
Pay: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour
