Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and shipment of materials within our facility. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems will ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and organize materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and process orders.
- Assist with order picking tasks using <PERSON> pickers and ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Manage shipping and receiving duties by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting goods for quality, and documenting transactions.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols for heavy lifting and equipment operation.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by maintaining organized storage areas, stacking pallets securely, and ensuring proper inventory rotation.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety procedures, and uphold mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related logistics roles with a strong focus on materials handling.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, crane systems, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking processes.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment use.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues or assisting with maintenance tasks.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or construction environments is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy and order fulfillment.
