Position Overview
Skin Dermatology is seeking an experienced MOHS Histotechnician for a full-time, on-site role within our dermatologic surgery and laboratory team.
This position includes 1–3 days per week performing MOHS histology, with the remainder of the week supporting general laboratory operations. The primary focus is MOHS histology, with additional lab responsibilities as part of being a core team member.
We are a busy MOHS practice with consistent case volume and established workflow, offering stability and hands-on involvement.
Key Responsibilities
MOHS Surgery Days:
- Perform cryostat sectioning with precision and efficiency
- Embed, cut, and stain MOHS tissue (H&E)
- Ensure proper orientation and slide quality
- Work directly with the Mohs surgeon during procedures
Non-MOHS Days:
- Assist with general histology and lab operations
- Support slide preparation and staining workflows
- Maintain lab organization, QC, and documentation
- Contribute to overall lab efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year MOHS histology experience (cryostat required)
- OR
- 2+ years dermatology laboratory experience with strong histology exposure
Additional pathway consideration:
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a science field or required science coursework may be considered for a training pathway toward HT/HTL certification, based on demonstrated aptitude
- Strong technical ability and attention to detail
- Reliable, efficient, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with consistent availability
Schedule Expectations
- Consistent weekly availability required
- This role is not structured as rotating or per diem coverage
