Full job description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Day Shift Supervisor, the Material Handler will be responsible for moving, handling, and storing materials by hand or using a variety of material equipment for product that is shipped throughout Canada, USA, Mexico and Internationally, while promoting an environment where safety, quality, mutual respect, and productivity are key priorities.
DUTIES OF THE JOB:
Provide production with material and removal of product as required
Ensure material is moved into and out of shipping / receiving
Store materials in the appropriate areas
Ensure that all outgoing products are properly labeled
Responsible to ensure all parts are packed in preparation of shipping
Assist shipping/receiving department as required
Time management skills
Other duties as required
EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
Work independently and take initiative.
Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
Strong team player, able to interact with all levels within the organization.
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA).
Follow all Omex Manufacturing ULC company policies.
Willingness to take additional training courses, as required.
Maintain a tidy and organized environment
BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1 year Previous shipping/receiving experience is considered an asset
A valid driver’s license
Understanding of quality systems and inspection
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Work in an organized, professional and cooperative manner
Communicate effectively, give and receive instructions accurately
Ability to perform repetitve heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), as required
Reason’s to work here:
