We are seeking a skilled and energetic Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Louisville, KY. Duties
- Construct, repair, and restore structures using brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Prepare surfaces by mixing mortar, laying bricks or stones, and applying finishing techniques such as plastering or stucco for a polished look
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Install rebar reinforcement for concrete structures and assist with concrete forming and pouring processes
- Perform masonry-related tasks such as tile laying, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and roofing support as needed
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to meet project specifications and timelines while maintaining safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction with a strong focus on masonry work in various environments including renovation and restoration projects
- Skilled in concrete finishing techniques and concrete forming processes
- Knowledge of rebar installation, metal stud framing, tile laying, stucco application, and plastering methods
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols on construction sites
- Strong understanding of construction estimating principles and project planning skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs
- Valid certifications or training in masonry techniques or related fields is preferred but not required
