About the role:
DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants is looking for a service-oriented and well-rounded Manager to join our Entertainment Group in our Victoria Office. The ideal candidate will have previous management experience, strong technical accounting and tax experience working with private, owner-managed clients in a public practice firm.

Whether it’s assurance, tax or advisory services, our private enterprise team members are dedicated to understanding our clients’ business and bringing new insights and strategies to help achieve their goals.
How you’ll make a difference:
Plan, manage, and execute Compilation and Review engagements.
Prepare financial statements with appropriate note disclosure in accordance with ASPE;
Review and finalize corporate and personal income tax returns, and related financial statements;
Identify and research potential resolutions for technical issues that arise during the engagement;
Monitor progress of work being completed on files and communicate with team and partners;
Identify and analyze client needs and provide exceptional service and advice to our clients;
Assist with client management and foster excellent relationships with clients and initiate business development opportunities;
Train, develop and supervise intermediate and junior staff.
Who you are:
You are a seasoned CPA with over two years of managerial experience within a public practice firm, catering specifically to Private Enterprise clients. Your expertise lies in Canadian tax preparation, covering a wide range of filings including personal and corporate tax returns, as well as various essential documents like trust returns and tax elections.
Proficient in industry-standard software such as CaseWare and Taxprep, your familiarity with QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, and other cloud-based applications adds further value to your skill set. Your experience extends to conducting review engagements, showcasing your ability to effectively manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
While your proficiency in US taxation serves as an asset, it’s your background in the music industry that sets you apart, offering unique insights and perspectives that enrich your professional profile.
