Hours of Work: Tuesday through Saturday (hours will vary between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to meet operational needs), occasionally Saturday or evening events may be required.
Compensation: $47 – $50K per year, depending on experience. Atira provides a generous and comprehensive benefits package and matching defined contribution pension plan.

Atira Women’s Arts Society (AWAS) is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing economic opportunities for women by teaching, making and selling art and crafts in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
About the Job:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Café Manager at EAST Van Roaster (EVR), will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our café, which is a social enterprise and specializes in bean-to-bar chocolate confections, coffee roasting, and retail sales. You will be responsible for managing a team of café staff, ensuring the quality of our products, and collaborating with upper management to drive the café’s success. Qualifications:

You have a Degree in business, culinary management or marketing preferred, demonstrated equivalent experience considered.

Knowledge of chocolate making, and coffee roasting is a plus, but not required.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Financial acumen with experience in budget management.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality.

Proficiency in software tools, including QuickBooks, for financial tasks.

Flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse responsibilities.

Willingness to adhere to work-safe practices at all times

. Additional Requisites/Assets:

Food Safe Certificate is Required within 30 days of hiring.

Knowledge of the Downtown East Side (history, organizations, services, issues and politics) an asset.

Covid-19 and annual flu vaccinations are required, unless with an exemption
