Position: Building Maintenance Worker
Location: Ksan Programing
Bargaining Unit: BCGEU
Classification: Building Maintenance Worker / Grid 10
Rate of Pay: $25.05-$28.75
Job Description:The building maintenance worker preforms maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds
and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds keeping.
Qualifications:Grade 10, plus related vocational training such as building maintenance course. Two (2) years recent
related experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Clear Criminal Record, and valid BC drivers
license with safe driving record is required.
Experience/Skills:
Energetic, self-starter, and ability to work independently,
Ability to carry out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds,
Competency in carpentry, minor electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing required,
Collection and removal safe disposal of garbage, recycling, and hazardous waste,
Knowledge of manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels, and other equipment to clean and maintain cleaning of
external areas such as entranceways, walkways, and parking lots,
Minor gardening and lawn maintenance my be required,
Transportation of furniture as required,
Completion of all records and maintenance logs as required,
Other duties as required.
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8am-430pm, 80 hours bi-weekly. (Rotating emergency after hour call-out.)
