Overview
We are seeking a reliable Yard Material Handler to join our warehouse team! This position requires co-worker and customer support in all related yard activities. Maintaining the yard inventory stock, putting materials/product away, helping customers / contractors find the products/materials they purchased.
*CDL is a plus for backup driving and extra compensation*
Duties
- Move and handle inventory stock as required.
- Load and unload trucks with building products (lumber, doors, windows, moulding etc.)
- Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, carrying, bending, walking, and handling material of 50 – 90 lbs.
- Operate hand pallet truck and/or forklift and other machinery.
- Gather and prepare customer/contractors purchased materials for pickup.
- Must be responsible, punctual with time and attendance.
- Work Schedule is Monday – Saturday with a day off in the week
- Available to work OT occasionally if needed.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak in English.
- High School Diploma/ GED preferred.
- Home improvement, building materials & millwork industry knowledge a plus.
- Ability to work independently or with a partner.
- Good communication skills, attention to details.
- Pre-employment and random drug screening
- Hi-Lo experience a plus
- Willingness to obtain a CDL a plus
