The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing daily package handling, transportation, and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery performance. This role provides leadership to supervisors and team members, manages operational processes, monitors productivity and service metrics, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain management and possesses excellent problem-solving, communication, and team development skills.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management

  • Oversee daily package sort, loading, unloading, and transportation operations.
  • Ensure operational goals for safety, service, quality, and productivity are achieved.
  • Monitor package flow and staffing levels to optimize efficiency and customer service.
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Manage scheduling, workforce planning, and labor allocation.
  • Support employee engagement, training, and retention initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and investigations when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate operational and compliance records.
  • Implement corrective actions to address safety concerns and operational deficiencies.

Customer Service & Quality

  • Maintain high service standards to meet delivery and pickup commitments.
  • Resolve operational issues that impact customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address escalated concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Monitor labor costs, operational expenses, and budget performance.
  • Review reports and operational metrics to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Assist with forecasting staffing and equipment needs.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3–5+ years of management experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse, distribution, or related operations.
  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.
  • Experience managing performance metrics and operational KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and op
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and peak seasons.

Preferred

  • Experience in parcel delivery or transportation operations.
  • Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout operational facilities for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 150lbs.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.
