Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Locksmith to join our security and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various locking systems, security devices, and access control mechanisms across commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong technical background, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. The Locksmith will ensure the safety and security of clients by providing expert lock services, troubleshooting electronic security systems, and supporting ongoing maintenance projects.
Duties
- Install, repair, and replace locks, safes, and other security hardware using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to lock systems and security devices.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic lock systems including CCTV, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and low voltage wiring.
- Perform maintenance on electronic access control systems, including computer hardware, telecommunication equipment, and computer networking components.
- Support construction projects by integrating security hardware into building plans following schematics and technical specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of security systems to ensure proper functioning; diagnose issues with sensors, power supplies, or wiring.
- Assist with the installation of telecommunication infrastructure related to security systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and update system records accordingly.
- Adhere to safety protocols when working with electrical components or power tools to prevent accidents or damage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction-related projects involving security hardware.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and cutting equipment.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), low voltage wiring, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware setup and computer networking as it relates to access control systems.
- Electrical experience including working with low voltage systems and schematics for security devices.
- Knowledge of mechanical locks as well as electronic locking mechanisms.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams related to schematics for various security components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic or mechanical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients or team members during installation or repair processes. Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
