Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) — Mental Health Therapist

About Wellness Direct LLC

Wellness Direct LLC is an established mental health and wellness practice with a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals, families, and couples across New Jersey. With an experienced clinical team and a commitment to excellence, we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact in the communities we serve.

As we continue to grow our team and expand our services, we are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our practice on a part-time or full-time, hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently licensed clinician to join an established practice, build a meaningful caseload, and develop professionally within a structured, collaborative environment.

Role Overview

The LCSW will deliver individual, family, and couples therapy to a diverse client population presenting with a range of mental health concerns. The role is hybrid — the clinician is expected to conduct in-person sessions at our Cedar Grove location with the flexibility to see clients via telehealth as appropriate. Administrative and documentation responsibilities will also be completed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

◦ Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with each client.

◦ Deliver evidence-based individual, family, and couples therapy utilizing modalities including CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.

◦ Monitor client progress on an ongoing basis, adjusting treatment plans to reflect clinical changes and goals.

◦ Provide psychoeducation to clients and, as appropriate, their families to support recovery and resilience.

Crisis Intervention

◦ Assess and respond to clients presenting in acute distress or crisis, implementing appropriate safety planning and intervention protocols.

◦ Coordinate with emergency services, psychiatric providers, and other healthcare professionals when a higher level of care is indicated.

Documentation & Compliance

◦ Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough clinical records in accordance with HIPAA, state regulations, and practice standards.

◦ Complete session notes, treatment plans, progress summaries, and discharge documentation within required timeframes.

◦ Adhere to all ethical and legal obligations governing licensed clinical social work in the State of New Jersey.

Collaboration & Consultation

◦ Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that may include psychiatrists, psychologists, and other licensed clinicians.

◦ Participate in case consultations and staff meetings to support continuity of care across the practice.

◦ Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education as required for licensure maintenance.

Qualifications

Required

◦ Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.

◦ Active, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential issued by the State of New Jersey — candidates must hold the full LCSW at the time of application. Applicants currently working toward licensure (LSW, LCSW-Associate, or equivalent) will not be considered for this role.

◦ Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches.

◦ Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort working within an electronic health records (EHR) system.

◦ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport across diverse client populations.

◦ Cultural competency and sensitivity to the varied backgrounds, identities, and experiences of clients.

◦ Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-based practice environment.

Preferred (Not Required)

◦ Experience providing individual, family, or couples therapy in an outpatient or community mental health setting.

◦ Familiarity with crisis intervention frameworks and safety planning protocols.

◦ Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is a plus.

Note on Experience: We welcome applications from clinicians at all stages of their career — including recent LCSW graduates and those who have been practicing for a short period. What matters most is licensure, clinical competence, and a genuine commitment to client-centered care. Supervision and mentorship are available within the practice.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with licensure and experience
  • Hybrid schedule with in-person and telehealth flexibility
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing clinical mentorship
  • A collaborative, inclusive practice culture committed to clinician well-being
