Lead Groundskeeper
Groton School’s Buildings and Grounds Department is seeking a full-time Lead Groundskeeper. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. This is a working lead role and requires an individual who will direct and oversee the work and activities performed by the Grounds Department.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the members of the Grounds team in the maintenance of the campus grounds, including mowing, trimming, removing leaves, and performing various other assigned tasks
Requirements
Qualified applicants will possess:
- Good mechanical skills and the ability to operate a variety of landscaping equipment, including tractors, mowers, grass trimmers, and hand tools
- A positive attitude and very good interpersonal skills since work will be performed among students, faculty, and staff on campus grounds
- Ability to shovel snow and occasionally perform heavy lifting
- Willingness to undergo a brief physical fitness test before finalization of hire, given the physical nature of the role
- 10-15 years of landscaping experience
- High school or trade school diploma
- Current driver’s license
This is a non-exempt, benefited position with an hourly pay range of $35.00 to $37.00.
