Job Summary and Requirements

This posting is for a full-time, permanent position working 75-hours bi-weekly. This competition may be used to fill future anticipatory vacancies.

The Finance and Administration Branch of the Public Service Commission is looking for a dynamic individual who approaches problem-solving collaboratively and with strong critical-thinking skills, respects diverse perspectives and demonstrates commitment to professionalism through leadership, dedication, and integrity. As a key member of our team and a ‘go to’ resource; this position is responsible for planning, leading, evaluating, and monitoring the financial operations for the Public Service Commission as well as supporting the development, analysis and monitoring of the department’s budgets.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Considerable experience leading financial operations, including process development, and provision of training, guidance, and support to finance staff and clients.
  • Considerable experience completing financial functions; reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, tracking expenditures and commitments, procurement, completing year-end reports and/or reconciling accounts.
  • Considerable experience applying financial legislation and/or policies and procedures to make decisions and provide advice and recommendations.
  • Considerable experience using financial systems and Microsoft applications (please indicate specific systems you have utilized).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (professionalism, positive attitude, tact and diplomacy)
