A Landscape Paver Crew Leader is responsible for physically installing hardscape elements like patios, walkways, and retaining walls. Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Landscape Paver Leader to join our hardscaping team. You will be responsible for turning landscape design plans into stunning outdoor living spaces. From excavating and grading the site to making precise cuts and locking pavers into place, you will bring structural integrity and aesthetic beauty to our residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Clear, excavate, and grade project sites. Remove old landscaping, roots, or existing hardscapes as needed.
- Base Installation: Prepare sub-base materials, lay load-bearing aggregates, and compact soil and gravel using plate compactors.
- Hardscape Installation: Precisely measure, cut, and lay paving stones, brick, flagstone, retaining wall blocks, and edging according to design specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and proficiently operate industry tools and machinery, including gas/electric chop saws, laser levels, tampers, jackhammers, skid steers, excavators, and Pave-Tools.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport heavy materials (pavers, gravel, sand, cement) to and from work vehicles and around the job site.
- Quality Control: Ensure all paved surfaces, walls, and borders are level, properly aligned, and finished to high company quality standards.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times. Clean tools and equipment daily.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in hardscape, masonry, or landscape construction.
- Physical Stamina: Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, kneeling, standing for long periods, and performing strenuous manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read landscape blueprints, understand elevations, and use measuring tools (string lines, laser levels).
- Tool Proficiency: Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., Bobcats, excavators) and power tools.
- Teamwork & Communication: Ability to take direction from Management and work collaboratively with fellow crew members.
- Driver’s License: Valid Driver’s License (CDL or clean driving record is a strong plus for hauling trailers and driving dump trucks).
What We Offer
- Competitive Pay: $30-$35/hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional OT & weekends)
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
