Greenhouse Assistant Grower

We service large retailers, grocery chains, and landscape companies. Our team of growers are a vital part of our company and are responsible for caring for the plants until they are mature enough to be sold to our customers. An assistant grower is a critical part of an Area Growing Team. The assistant grower is responsible for a designated section of plants and reports directly to the managing Area Grower to complete necessary tasks related to plant care and growth.
Responsibilities
- Irrigation
- Chemical application
- Plant pruning and cleaning
- Manage and complete daily assignments for your section of greenhouse, assigned by the managing Area Grower
- Maintain a safe and clean section, for both our plants and our team
- Weekend shifts required
Required Skills
- Must speak English
- Basic understanding of plant biology and treatment chemistry
- Ability to stay self-motivated to complete tasks and identify work that needs to be done
- Detail oriented and committed to perfecting each crop that you grow
- Problem solving attitude when approaching challenges
- Must be willing to learn from mistakes and have a teachable attitude
Recommended Skills
- Experience in the horticulture industry
- Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant biology, or related field
- A scientific approach to learning and increasing your knowledge of plants and genetics
