Position Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support daily laboratory operations within our growing analytical testing division. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, the successful candidate will assist with sample receiving, preparation, data entry, laboratory maintenance, and routine analytical activities while working within established quality and safety systems.

This role is ideal for an early-career laboratory professional seeking hands-on experience in a modern analytical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, accession, and enter samples into the laboratory information system (LIMS)
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures and assist with analytical testing
  • Maintain accurate records and quality documentation
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and work areas
  • Assist with inventory, laboratory supplies, and sample kit preparation
  • Handle laboratory waste according to safety and WHMIS requirements
  • Follow all quality, safety, and accreditation requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 15189, CLIA, or MDEL requirements is an asset
  • WHMIS training is an asset
