Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive art lessons that cater to a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning styles, integrating curriculum development best practices.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with students and parents effectively.
- Incorporate various learning technologies and digital tools to enhance artistic instruction and foster innovation in the classroom.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring equitable access to art education.
- Manage classroom behavior proactively through effective classroom management techniques, creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Assess student work regularly using formative and summative methods, including standardized testing when applicable, to monitor growth and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, participate in school events such as art exhibitions or community outreach programs, and contribute to a vibrant school culture centered on creativity.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience teaching art at the K-8 level in a formal educational setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in lesson planning tailored to diverse student needs across childhood development stages.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement.
