***This role is for a Junior Building Operator based at Royal Bank Plaza in downtown Toronto***

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Building Operator to join the Operations team at a premier Class AAA commercial office tower in downtown Toronto. This role supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all base building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems.

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with less than two years of building operations experience who is looking to develop their career within a high-performance commercial real estate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily monitoring and operation of Deep Lake Water Cooling Systems, third-party provided steam heating, various pumps, and air handling systems

• Perform routine building rounds and record equipment readings

• Complete preventive maintenance tasks through CMMS

• Respond to tenant service requests and comfort calls in a professional manner

• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues under supervision

• Support life safety inspections and regulatory compliance (Fire Code, TSSA, ESA)

• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and logs

• Coordinate with contractors and ensure safe work practices

What you’ll bring

• 4th Class Power Engineer (Ontario) or actively pursuing certification, or Building Environmental Systems (BES I & II), BOMA SMT, or an industry-related Red Seal Trade

• WHMIS (current)

• Working at Heights (current)

• First Aid & CPR (asset)

• 0–2 years of experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial building operations

• Exposure to large-scale commercial office environments is considered an asset

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $58,098 to $65,000

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
