Full job description

The IT Applications Manager provides systems management and technical support to HC Global employees in using business applications. They liaise with technical functions within the IT department, Process and Technology teams, and application vendors.

The IT Applications Manager will spend part of their workday supporting existing services and applications and part of their time implementing new initiatives and working with stakeholders across multiple lines of the business.

Responsibilities:

Day-to-day operation and oversight of various applications on behalf of users, vendors, and clients, both as a leader within the IT department and as an individual contributor.

Prioritize and complete tasks promptly and efficiently, adjust for changing priorities, and demonstrate initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks and process improvement opportunities.

Participate in projects, including analyzing complex problems, proposing solutions, learning the fundamentals of the supported business areas, and translating business issues into technology requirements.

Promote effective SDLC, project management, and knowledge management across HC Global, including developing and writing processes and collaborating in validating procedures.

Ensure applications are available and supported as defined in the system service level agreement (SLA).

Coordinate and summarize Root Cause Analysis to identify trends and recommend improvements for recurring issues with IT staff, system users, and vendors.

System administration and manage user access permissions to applications and assist in the maintenance of applications.

Effectively communicate and work well with IT teams across a distributed environment to drive problem resolution and proper service levels. Communicate complex technical issues to business users in easily understood terms.

Ensure application issues are logged in the IT ticketing system standard operating procedures for escalation are followed and documented. Where needed, coordinate issue hand-off to IT, Process and Technology teams, or vendor support.

Work cross-functionally to document the end-to-end processing environment.

Ensure system changes follow change management best practices. Manage changes to applications inventory in the Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB).

Help to define, record, and execute application disaster recovery plans and procedures as appropriate. Participate in internal or external audit activities.

Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive, private, and proprietary information.

Position may require prolonged sitting and/or standing.

Hybrid work with occasional travel to HC Global sites and may convert to 100% onsite.

In addition to the above functions, you may also be expected to assist in other work, as the need arises, and as determined by HC Global management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related experience with technical certifications.

3 – 5 years of experience in a technical management role, preferably within a financial services organization or regulated environment.

Strong understanding of applications, systems, and processes including but not limited to: Finance/Accounting systems, web portals, CRM, HRIS, EDMS, AWS, SFTP, SQL, ETL, APIs, TCP/IP, client/server architecture, XaaS.
