Position Title
Ironworker / Structural Steel Erector
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Ironworker to join our structural steel team. The Ironworker will assist with the fabrication, erection, installation, and repair of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stairs, rails, and related components on commercial and industrial construction projects. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights, reading drawings, and operating safely in active construction environments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Erect and install structural steel, joists, decking, stairs, railings, embeds, and miscellaneous metals
- Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and erection plans
- Connect steel members using bolts, welding, and rigging methods
- Assist with crane picks, rigging, signaling, and material handling
- Install roof deck, floor deck, and metal panels as required
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and welding equipment
- Perform field welding and torch cutting when needed
- Measure, align, level, and plumb structural components
- Work safely at heights using fall protection equipment
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and maintaining jobsite organization
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with foremen, operators, and project managers
- Perform additional labor duties as required by the project
Qualifications
- Previous ironworking, structural steel, or construction experience preferred
- Ability to read tape measures and structural/shop drawings
- Experience with rigging, welding, and connecting steel preferred
- Must be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Reliable transportation to jobsites
- Strong work ethic and attendance required
Required Certifications
- Current AWS welding certification preferred or required depending on position
- Ability to pass AWS structural welding tests for field and shop welding applications
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code preferred
- OSHA 10 certification preferred (OSHA 30 a plus)
Preferred Skills
- Structural welding certifications in SMAW and FCAW processes
- Experience operating aerial lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts
- Experience with commercial structural steel erection
- Experience welding galvanized and structural steel components
Physical Requirements
- Climbing, lifting, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Working on ladders, lifts, and elevated steel structures
- Ability to work in hot, cold, windy, or rainy conditions

- Ayudar con maniobras de grúa, señalización y manejo de materiales
- Instalar roof deck, floor deck y paneles metálicos según sea necesario
- Operar herramientas manuales, herramientas eléctricas, grinders, antorchas y equipos de soldadura
- Realizar soldadura y corte con antorcha en campo cuando sea necesario
- Medir, alinear, nivelar y plomar componentes estructurales
- Trabajar de forma segura en alturas utilizando equipo de protección contra caídas
- Ayudar con carga y descarga de materiales y mantener el área de trabajo organizada
- Seguir regulaciones de OSHA y procedimientos de seguridad de la empresa
- Comunicarse efectivamente con supervisores, operadores y gerentes de proyecto
- Realizar otras tareas laborales según las necesidades del proyecto
Requisitos
- Experiencia previa en ironwork, acero estructural o construcción preferida
- Capacidad para leer cinta métrica y planos estructurales/shop drawings
- Experiencia en rigging, soldadura y conexión de acero preferida
- Debe sentirse cómodo trabajando en alturas y en exteriores bajo diferentes condiciones climáticas
- Capacidad para levantar más de 50 libras regularmente
- Licencia de conducir válida preferida
- Transporte confiable hacia los proyectos
- Buena ética de trabajo y asistencia confiable
Certificaciones Requeridas
- Certificación actual de AWS preferida o requerida dependiendo de la posición
- Capacidad para aprobar pruebas de soldadura estructural AWS para aplicaciones de taller y campo

Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
