We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our finance team at either the Financial Analyst or Intermediate Financial Analyst level, depending on experience. This role is actively involved in the financial close cycle, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis, with a focus on insurance-related accounting, payroll entries, and asset accounting. Working closely with senior team members, the successful candidate will gain exposure to increasingly complex responsibilities over time.

This is a hybrid role with one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end and quarter-end close by preparing journal entries, working papers, and related financial deliverables in a timely manner
  • Perform and maintain reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations, collaborating with business units where required
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of process documentation and standard procedures
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reconciliation processes and working files, and assist in implementing improvements
  • Support internal control initiatives by conducting research and assisting with process enhancements within the accounting function
  • Assist in researching accounting matters and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation
  • Provide audit support by gathering required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Progress toward a CPA designation
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Approximately 1–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within financial services or insurance
  • Strong understanding and experience with IFRS reporting requirements
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas), and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Dynamics, Workday, Oracle, or NetSuite
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Exposure to Workday systems
