The Board of Directors of the Mosquito Creek Foundation is accepting applications for the position of an interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). This interim role is crucial as we navigate a transitional period, allowing us to maintain stability while we focus on building relationships with our partners and determining our needs for hiring a permanent CAO.

Our housing portfolio comprises 94 units, encompassing Lodge, Seniors Self-Contained Apartments, SL3 Level, Designated Supportive Living units DSL4, and DSL4D. The communities served by the Foundation include Nanton, Stavely, MD of Willow Creek, and MD of Ranchlands, with the head office situated in Nanton, Alberta.

The interim CAO will be accountable for providing leadership and management expertise in the operation of affordable housing facilities. This role entails oversight of 39 staff and collaboration with the Alberta Health Services Team. The Foundation seeks a leader who will prioritize operational excellence and cultivate robust, supportive relationships within both the community and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and management in the operation of affordable housing facilities.
Oversee a team of 30 plus staff and collaborate with Alberta Health Services.
Focus on achieving operational excellence and fostering strong, supportive relationships.
Manage contracts with stakeholders and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications:

Experience in management and administration within the housing industry, particularly working with seniors.
Strong financial background with demonstrated skills in budgeting and strategic direction.
Proficiency in human resources, benefits administration, and labor relations.
Knowledge and experience in managing contracts with stakeholders.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and the Board of Directors.
Working knowledge of Accommodation and Continuing Care Standards.
Experience and understanding of Senior’s Housing and Supportive Living Care.

Desired Qualifications:

Secondary education and related business degree (a degree in Public Admin with accounting is desirable), or a combination of education and management work history with seniors and affordable housing will be considered.
Alberta Public Housing Administrators Association – CORE Competency Certificates.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Comvida payroll software or equivalent computer programs.
