Instructional Assistant (IA) – ABA Therapy-Education Program

Position Overview –
Seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Instructional Assistant (IA) to support our unique ABA therapy–education program. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with students with diverse learning needs and thrive in a structured, team-oriented environment.
Under the supervision of a qualified teacher, the IA supports instruction, student engagement, behavior management, and daily classroom operations to ensure a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students during whole group, small group, and individualized instruction
* Assist with classroom management using positive behavior supports and ABA-informed strategies
* Reinforce teacher-led instruction through follow-up, review, and guided practice
* Help prepare and organize instructional materials, lesson resources, and classroom setup
* Provide individual student support, including prompting, redirection, and engagement
* Assist with data collection and documentation of student progress, behavior, and performance
* Support implementation of IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
* Assist students with daily living needs (toileting, hygiene, feeding, mobility) as needed
* Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and school activities
* Maintain a safe and structured environment aligned with program expectations
* Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families when appropriate
* Participate in team collaboration and training sessions
* Follow all school, safety, and confidentiality policies
Education, Training & Experience
* Associate degree in Education or related field
OR
* Minimum of 60 college credit hours
OR
* Relevant experience working with school-aged children, especially students with high needs
* Experience with special education, autism, or ABA environments preferred
* Must complete all required trainings and meet state and federal health requirements
Required Certifications (Within First 6 Months)
* CPR / AED Certification
* Pediatric First Aid
* TEACH – Crisis Prevention Intervention
Certifications must be maintained and renewed as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong ability to support instruction in reading, writing, and math readiness
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to manage time, stay organized, and follow structured schedules
* Comfortable using technology and basic computer systems
* Ability to collect and track student data
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Demonstrates patience, consistency, and respect for individual differences
