A highly respected national organization in the healthcare and public‑service sector is seeking a Payroll & Human Resources Representative to provide key support during a temporary leave. This team plays an essential role in supporting employees across multiple locations and ensuring the smooth delivery of critical HR, payroll, benefits, and pension services.
This 2‑month contract, with strong potential for extension, offers a hybrid work model, a supportive team culture, and the opportunity to contribute to work that directly impacts communities across Canada.
Your New Role
As the Payroll & Human Resources Representative, you’ll serve as a primary contact for HR and payroll‑related inquiries while managing a wide range of employee life‑cycle transactions. You’ll work closely with the HR/Payroll Team Lead and collaborate across the people‑operations function to ensure accurate processing, adherence to collective agreements, and exceptional internal service.
This hybrid role requires two days onsite per week at one of the organization’s Ontario locations (Brampton, Ottawa, Downtown Toronto, or Winnipeg), with standard Monday–Friday hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for general HR, pay, benefits, and pension inquiries
- Process employee changes including hires, job movements, leaves, returns, layoffs, recalls, terminations, and retirements
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee data within the HRIS (SAP)
- Interpret and apply collective agreement provisions related to pay and entitlements
- Administer benefits and pension programs based on plan rules and legislation
- Manage updates related to promotions, pay adjustments, and other pay‑related events
- Generate and maintain reports aligned with union requirements
- Support managers with understanding HR policies, programs, and procedures
- Collaborate with internal HR partners to support changes to programs and processes
- Provide high‑quality customer service to employees and stakeholders
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Payroll, or Business Administration
- 3+ years of HR, payroll, and HRIS administrative experience
- Experience working with SAP or similar HRIS platforms
- Strong understanding of pay processing, benefits, and pension administration
- Experience in a unionized or regulated environment
- High accuracy, strong analytical skills, and excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer‑service orientation
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Background supporting HR or payroll within healthcare, public sector, or multi‑site organizations
