Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of hardscape features such as pavers, retaining walls, steps, and decorative stonework following project plans and schematics
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and set building materials including concrete, brick, stone, and tile
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting forms for concrete pouring, and ensuring proper site safety protocols are followed
- Support the use of heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and material transport to ensure efficient project progression
- Read blueprints and interpret technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
- Mix and pour concrete with precision for foundations, slabs, or finishing touches like concrete forming and finishing techniques
- Assist with the installation of related systems such as drainage pipes or electrical conduits embedded within hardscape features
Experience
- Prior construction site experience or hands-on work in masonry, carpentry (including trim carpentry), or remodeling projects is highly desirable
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction plans is a plus
- Knowledge of building materials installation including stucco, caulking, roofing components, glass installation, cabinet setup, flooring installation, tile laying or plastering enhances your fit for this role
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers or compactors is beneficial but not required
- Basic electrical or plumbing experience can be advantageous when coordinating with other trades on-site
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately ensures high-quality craftsmanship in every project
