Job description: General Manager
Department: Property/Operations
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: Outlets at the Dells, Baraboo, WI
Horizon Group Properties is seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to oversee property operations , maximize asset value, and foster a premier shopping environment. You will lead the onsite team, manage owner investments, and serve as the primary liaison for tenants and local officials.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: BA degree in Business Management or equivalent professional experience.
- Management Experience: 3–4 years of experience in shopping center management, property management, or retail operations.
- Leadership: At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role with a proven ability to build and lead teams.
- Financial Literacy: 3–4 years of direct experience developing and managing property budgets.
- Leasing Knowledge: 2–3 years of leasing experience is highly desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and standard PC-based property management applications.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate concisely in writing and public speaking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage properties with operational challenges and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
· Operations & Maintenance: Ensure the property and equipment undergo prompt preventative maintenance to provide a safe, pleasant environment for customers. The General Manager shall oversee the cleaning and maintenance condition of the property to ensure high standards.
· Personnel Management: Manage and mentor onsite employees.
· Tenant Relations: Provide high-level service to tenants; maintain strong relationships with Store Managers, and Regional Managers.
· Leasing & Business Development: Pursue short-term leasing opportunities and develop leads with local/regional tenant prospects.
· Financial Oversight: Develop, administer, and balance property budgets to meet investment objectives and generate company income.
· Compliance & Safety: Ensure the property remains in full compliance with local building and safety codes.
· Community Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for city officials and represent the property in the local community.
· Perform additional assignments as requested by management.
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
