General Labourer Jobs in Thunder Bay at J&A Contracting
We are looking for reliable, hardworking Construction Labourers / General Labourers to join our growing team. You will support our crew on a variety of projects including basement renovations, concrete pours and repairs, deck builds, siding installations, drywall, framing, and general site work. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work and wants to build a long-term career in the trades.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist with all phases of construction and renovation projects (concrete forming/pouring/finishing, carpentry, framing, drywall hanging/taping, siding, decking/stairs, foundations, etc.)
-Site preparation, clean-up, and material handling
-Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment safely
-Follow instructions from the site supervisor and maintain a clean, organized work environment
-Load/unload materials and assist with deliveries
-Perform demolition work when required
-Adhere to all safety protocols and Ontario Building Code standards
-Various duties as assigned
Requirements
-Previous construction or labourer experience is preferred (but we are willing to train motivated individuals)
-Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs, work in various weather conditions, and perform repetitive tasks
-Reliable transportation to job sites in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas
-Valid driver’s license is an asset
-Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently or as part of a team
-Willingness to learn new skills and take direction
-Comfortable with occasional out-of-town work around Northwestern Ontario
