Full job description
Ronsco Inc. is an industry leading manufacturer and distributor of railcar and locomotive products, operates the largest independent wheelshop in Canada (Hamilton, Ontario), as well as providing railcar and locomotive repair services.
Looking forLaborers / Weldersto add to our growing team inCoteau-du-lac, Quebec (west of Montreal). It is not accessible by public transportation so a reliable means of getting to work is a must.
Responsibilities:
Operate and handle a variety of tools and equipment including (but not limited to) pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts and cranes safely and proficiently
Develop knowledge of railcar maintenance standards and rules, and interpret industry terminology for application to mechanical repairs of railcars
Adhere to and promote safety practices
Perform daily assistance with housekeeping
The ability to organize time and priorities to meet production efficiency standards
Perform occasional work outdoors in adverse conditions
Qualifications:
High-school Diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
Welder certification and welding experience preferred
Previous railway experience a plus
Ability to work in a physically demanding and dirty environment.
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
Possibility of working in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection (following training and certification)
Compensation & Benefits:
4 DAYS WORKWEEK SCHEDULE, Monday to Thursday from 6:15am to 4:30pm
$800 hiring bonuspaid 6 months after hiring, subject to all applicable deductions)
