Location: AR. Kaufman YMCA, Waterloo Region

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Evenings and Weekends required.

Pension Plan – All full-time employees have the opportunity to participate in a group pension plan after two consecutive years of employment, employees contribute 5% of their gross earnings per pay which is matched by the Y. After three consecutive years of full-time service, participation in the YMCA pension plan is mandatory.

What you will do…

You will provide a high standard of customer service to all participants per YMCA Service Orientation competency model standard. You will ensure all assigned areas are cleaned promptly and regularly. You will clean all areas of the facility. You will wash showers, clean washroom areas, dust and mop floors, refill all dispensers (soap, paper products etc.), stock/maintain cleaning supplies as required, and other duties as assigned. You will be responsible for washing/drying and restocking towels. Your attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent quality work will ensure our facility meets our high standards for cleanliness, including all COVID-19 protocols. You will attend trainings and staff meetings as required. This physically demanding position requires task flexibility, organization and high levels of energy.

What you will bring…

You will have a minimum of 1-year experience in a similar environment and the ability to use various cleaning tools and equipment. You will be able to take direction, work well with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team. You will have a commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment. WHMIS certificate and Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED is an asset. You will also be required to present an acceptable Criminal Record Check. Physical requirements include frequent climbing of stairs, some physical exertion and lifting a maximum of 50lbs
