Role Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Freelance IT & Field Technician to join our service network. In this role, you will provide a hybrid of on-site infrastructure support and hands-on computer repair services. This position is perfect for a technician who enjoys the variety of switching between complex hardware installations and deep-dive technical troubleshooting for computer systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Computer Hardware & Software Repair: Diagnose and repair hardware failures (motherboards, screens, power supplies) and resolve software issues (OS reinstallation, virus removal, and performance optimization) for laptops and desktops.
- Infrastructure Installation: Perform professional installations of Starlink satellite systems, commercial CCTV security, and smart technology solutions.
- Networking & Connectivity: Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for residential and commercial clients.
- Device Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance and upgrades, including SSD installations and RAM expansions, to extend the life of client equipment.
- System Documentation: Log all service details, hardware specs, and repair outcomes into our dispatch system to maintain a high standard of service history.
Qualifications
- IT Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong background in diagnosing and repairing both Windows and macOS hardware and software environments.
- Field Experience: Prior experience in low-voltage cabling, networking, or field service installation.
- Technical Skill Set: Proficiency with diagnostic software and precision tools for electronics repair.
- Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment at client sites.
- Logistics: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel within service areas.
- Certification Preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar manufacturer-specific certifications are highly valued.
Work Structure
- Type: Part-time / Freelance (Contract).
