The Range Counter Sales Clerk handles customer transactions, enforces range rules, ensures firearm safety, provides excellent customer service in the retail and range area, and assists with merchandising for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce range rules and gun safety when handling firearms.
- Answering the phone in a timely manner and assisting the customer over the phone.
- Assist customers with selecting merchandise, rentals, and protective gear, and suggest related items.
- Create sales tickets and process payments via POS system.
- Answer customer questions about products, prices, and range operations.
- Assign lanes and ensure adherence to safety policies while on the range.
- Merchandise, stock shelves, clean the range, and maintain a tidy sales area.
- Cleaning counter tops and dusting merchandise.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or direct them to management as needed.
- Stay informed about new products and upcoming promotions.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Range Manager.
- Works in a team and shares responsibility in all cleaning aspects.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in retail and firearm handling is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage inquiries and complaints.
- Basic computer and register skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., loud noise, exposure to chemicals).
- Must be knowledgeable of firearm safety practices and range policies.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- You must wear ear protection when working on the range due to loud noise.
- Frequent exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, and temperature variations.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a retail and shooting range setting with exposure to loud noise and chemicals.
- Required to use safety equipment as needed.
