FIBRE TECHNICIAN / VAULT INSTALLER
GCS Group has immediate openings for experienced fibre technicians to join our growing telecom construction company.
Candidates must have experience with fibre drilling / installation projects and be qualified to drive the support vehicles used to transport this equipment to and from various project sites.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret plans, locates or diagrams and perform required work;
Underground utility installations for telecommunications;
Installation of fibre;
Installation of vaults/pedestals
Shoveling and digging
Backfilling
Participate in site safety including pre-job orientations, toolbox meetings, ensure all safety paperwork is accurate and complete;
Submit daily logs to the Project Coordinator at the end of each shift;
Responsible for ensuring permits are valid and completing tickets;
Other related fibre installation tasks as needed.
Requirements
Must have 1+ years experience working on fibre / telecom installation projects;
Read and interpret plans, locates or diagrams and perform required work;
Meticulous and high attention to detail;
Safety conscious;
Cable pulling an asset;
Valid Class 5 license;
Clean driver’s abstract (3 year);
Must be able to work in varied and cold weather conditions;
Physically fit with no physical limitations;
Capable of lifting 50lbs;
Strong work ethic;
Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly;
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to work in a fast- paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.

CSTS 2020 (required)
Ground Disturbance – Supervisor Level 2 (required)
Standard First Aid is an asset
