Full job description
Metal shop is located in Mississauga, ON. Candidates must be in Ontario, Canada and can travel to the shop location (preferably with a vehicle/valid driver’s licence).
Looking for a helper/labourer with experience to work alongside a welder fabricator in a metal shop. Individuals who have experience working with care and working safely on-site are extremely important. Applicants must have experience working inside a welding environment or steel fabrication shop. Someone interested in the trade of welding or interested in becoming a welding apprentice isstrongly desired.If you hold a WHMIS certification or any other safety certification, please state this.
MUST have experience:
measuring materials with a standard measuring tape;
using hand-operated power tools, including angle grinding, sanding, cutting and drilling; and
comfortably and safely lifting up to 50-75lbs.
Responsibilities:
Working with hand-operated power tools to complete tasks.
Measuring and cutting steel with a horizontal band saw.
Employer will make candidates take a small practical test regarding the position’s responsibilities. Not all individuals will be contacted and/or interviewed. More details to follow if you are contacted.
