Job Summary
Students who have children and need to register them in day care are preferred as we have spots available and would prefer to give it someone who is working with us.
The ECE Practicum provides aspiring early childhood education professionals with hands-on experience in a classroom setting. This role offers an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world environments, supporting the development and learning of young children. The practicum is designed to foster professional growth, enhance teaching skills, and deepen understanding of early childhood development principles.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing daily activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Support classroom management by engaging with children and encouraging positive behavior.
- Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and interactions to inform instructional strategies.
- Prepare educational materials and classroom setups to facilitate engaging learning experiences.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support children’s overall well-being and educational needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Passion for working with children and commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
