The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a hardworking and dependable individual to join our team in the role of DZ Truck Driver based in the Sudbury, Ontario area. This role is suitable for a safety-conscious, reliable individual who takes pride in their truck and their work.
Your Day-to-Day
- Perform mandatory pre and post vehicle inspections
- Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, and ever-changing conditions
- Maintain accurate electronic hour of service logs and vehicle inspections
- Operate company equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to take direction and communicate verbally, working as a team player
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers
- Work schedule including evenings and weekends as required to meet operational demands
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment, both interior and exterior
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and/or regulations, including both wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Travel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including occasional out-of-town assignments with overnight stays
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Valid DZ/AZ class driver’s license with a clean drivers’ abstract (Preference will be given to AZ drivers)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a triaxle or other related driving experience
Considered an Asset:
- Surface Miner Common Core
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
- Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors)
- Knowledgeable and respectful of the Highway Traffic Act and municipality by laws
- Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety
- Ability to manage risks and adapt to unexpected changes
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

The pay range posted reflects base compensation only. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
