POSITION SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:
The Foreman oversees and coordinates drywall and framing crews in the field, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves reading and interpreting plans, laying out work, coordinating material and equipment needs, and mentoring less experienced workers. The Foreman is responsible for maintaining production schedules, enforcing safety standards, and delivering superior results for assigned projects.
Base hourly rate: $29/hr – $36/hr
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Crew Supervision & Leadership
- Directs and manages drywall, framing, and Stucco crews of varying skill levels.
- Facilitates training and knowledge transfer to less experienced tradespeople.
- Conducts daily huddles and ensures jobsite safety and productivity goals are met.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Reviews blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work sequence and layout.
- Plans framing and drywall installation around mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Coordinates with Project Managers and General Contractors to align on schedules and milestones.
- Assists in developing 3-week look-ahead schedules to forecast manpower and material needs.
- Quality & Safety Oversight
- Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Identifies potential issues, safety hazards, or deficiencies and resolves or escalates appropriately.
- Completes safety documentation (JHAs/AHAs), enforces OSHA and company safety requirements, and leads by example.
- Material & Equipment Management
- Manages the timely staging, loading, and delivery of drywall, studs, track, and related materials.
- Ensures the availability of all tools, lifts, and equipment needed for scheduled work.
- Coordinates with suppliers and vendors for material delivery and cut-to-length studs if applicable.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintains daily field reports, time records, and progress updates.
- Accurately records manpower utilization and production tracking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates on active construction sites, both new builds and remodels. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often at heights, on scaffolding, or in partially enclosed environments. Exposure to noise, dust, and other typical construction hazards is common.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Hand Tool & Power Tool Use.
TRAVEL:
Local travel to and between job sites is required. Occasional regional travel may be necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or vocational training in construction trades.
- 3–5 years of experience in drywall and/or metal stud framing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Ability to read construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with capacity to manage crews and coordinate with GCs.
- Proficient in basic technology (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 30-hour training certification.
- Aerial/scissor lift and forklift certifications.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
