Sheldon Cleaners is looking to add to our Production Team! We are a family owned business that specializes in Dry Cleaning, Shirt Laundry, and Home Laundry services. We were founded 75+ years ago and hold a prominent presence in West Michigan and recently expanded to the Metro Detroit area! We were the first company in Michigan 2012 to convert all of our Dry Cleaning chemicals to an earth friendly system. We are growing and looking to add another asset to our amazing production team!
Position Summary:
The Dry Cleaning Final Inspector is responsible for ensuring all garments meet company quality standards before being returned to customers. This position performs a final inspection of cleaned garments, identifies and corrects quality issues. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing quality work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough final inspection of all garments after cleaning and pressing.
- Inspect garments for stains, spots, wrinkles, loose threads, missing buttons, tears, and other defects.
- Verify that all customer requests and special instructions have been completed.
- Ensure garments are clean, properly pressed, and presented according to company quality standards.
- Reprocess garments that do not meet quality expectations or coordinate with production staff for corrections.
- Maintain an organized and efficient inspection area.
- Communicate quality concerns with pressing, spotting, and cleaning staff.
- Follow all company safety policies and proper garment handling procedures.
- Help with other production as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dry cleaning, garment inspection, or textile care preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to recognize garment defects, stains, and pressing issues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of garment fabrics and care requirements.
- Ability to identify quality issues before garments reach customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Dependable with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Regular use of hands for handling garments.
- Ability to lift and move garment racks and bags weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warm production environment.

Schedule
Production days are Mon, Wed, Friday’s. Start time 6:00 AM until production is finished between (12:00OPM-3:00PM) Some Tuesday’s required based on business levels and peak times.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $16.50 per hour
