Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and professional individual to join our team as a Drug & Alcohol Test Collector, phlebotomy experience is a plus. This position is responsible for performing DOT and non-DOT specimen collections at our permanent collection site and at client locations as needed, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
This is a client-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, strict attention to compliance, and the ability to represent our company professionally in a variety of workplace environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol specimen collections (urine, oral fluid, breath alcohol, hair), following all applicable federal regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collection for clinical and wellness testing, as applicable (training provided if needed).
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, donors, and coworkers.
- Follow client-specific drug and alcohol testing programs and protocols.
- Accurately complete all required chain-of-custody forms, records, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve collection issues at the testing site in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant collection environment.
- Work assigned schedules and comply with company timekeeping policies.
- Travel to client sites for on-site/mobile collections as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company growth and operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy experience or certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as a drug and alcohol test collector is preferred; training and certification can be provided for the right candidate.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Comfortable handling urine, oral fluid, breath alcohol, hair, and blood specimens while following strict protocols.
- Confident interacting with donors, supervisors, HR personnel, and company owners in industries such as trucking, construction, and local government.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with multiple software systems; CRM experience is a plus.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, automobile insurance, and clean driving record required. Mileage reimbursement provided for business-related travel.
- Must be able to pass a drug test
