The Opportunity:
Role Overview: As a Full Time Driver/Ambassador at Habitat for Humanity Huronia, you will play a crucial role in our mission to create safe and decent housing for families in need.
Your primary responsibilities will involve driving our Habitat truck to pick up donations from homes, stores, offices, and other locations, returning the items safely for sale in our ReStore. You will be the first point of contact between our ReStores and donors, representing Habitat for Humanity with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities:
Regularly lift and move furniture, building materials, and other donated items up to 50 lbs.
Safely operate the Habitat truck to collect donated items from various locations. Handle donated goods with care and ensure they are securely loaded onto the truck.
Provide exceptional customer service to donors during pick-ups, Answer questions and provide information about Habitat for Humanity.
Assessing Donated Items: Evaluate condition of pre-approved donations, ensuring accuracy and quality on site.
Ensure adherence to established safety and security practices and procedures as outlined in the ReStore Safety Handbook.
Evaluating the suitability of donations in accordance with current acceptable donations list.
Alert ReStore Management to the condition of ReStore vehicles and repairs or maintenance.
Use technology to ensure contact communication with ReStore Management and Logistics team.
Qualifications:
Valid Class G drivers’ licence with a clean driving abstract, provide 3 years driving experience.
Demonstrate ability and a passion for teamwork.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands including frequent pushing, pulling and reaching; frequent kneeling & bending; frequent lifting or carrying upto 50 lbs.
Must have CSA approved, green patch steel toe boots/shoes.
Must be cleared by a Criminal Reference Check.

Salary: $18.25-$19.75 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 37.5 per week
