Full job description
2023 Season – start date May 1. Seasonal position at fly-in only fishing lodge in eastern Manitoba in beautiful Atikaki Provincial Park. Light housekeeping lodge, 43 guest capacity, in 6 individual cabins. Staff compliment is 8 people. Lodge has been family owned and operated for 60 years. Guests provide and cook own meals and guide own boats. Many long-time repeat guests.
Responsibilities and Duties
Dockhands are responsible to:
meet the aircraft daily at the dock
unload and load aircraft
operate “quad” and golf cart around camp
clean and fuel boats daily
operate 16′ boat to dispose of fish guts daily
bagging garbage to be flown out
lifting required
camp work such as cutting wood, cutting grass, staining
help with cooking for staff and cleaning as required
Qualifications and Skills
Time management skills are essential. Need to be able to work well independently and as a team. Carpentry and mechanical experience an asset. Wilderness experience (camping, canoeing, hunting, fishing, farm living), having lived in a remote location and/or previous job experience in the tourism industry all preferred. First Aid and CPR preferred. Manitoba boating license required before start date. *Boating experience is required.

Room and board is included. Days off can be taken out of camp. Transportation to and from the lodge to St. Andrews airport is provided. Private accommodations provided in newly built staff cabins. New main lodge building houses staff kitchen. Some staff clothing provided.

Are you comfortable living in a remote location? (Aircraft stop daily and WiFi is available.)
Are you comfortable working in a live/work setting where co-workers eat together family style and live together at the lodge? (Separate accommodations are provided, all food is provided too.)
