Community Living Wallaceburg is a proud and progressive organization that offers a comprehensive range of accommodation and community support to over 450 children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. To assist in our current human resource needs, we are seeking to recruit people who are dedicated to teamwork, understand commitment, accept responsibility and possess exemplary verbal and written communication skills for the position of:
Direct Support Professional – Casual
Preferred qualifications include successful completion of a two (2) year community college diploma and/or university degree in a related field, with work experience in human services.
Applicants must be prepared to support people with complex care needs, including communication, behaviourial and/or medical needs. This position requires that the successful candidate be able to safely conduct physical maneuvers and be prepared for work of a demanding physical nature, including but not limited to lifting, bending and twisting.
Hours of work will include week-ends, evenings, and holidays with some day shifts.
Successful applicants will be required to have/provide:
- A valid "G" Ontario License.
- A car available for work purposes.
- Provide proof that they hold $1 million liability insurance that is valid, and that the employee is properly named on the insurance.
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Police Check.
