DPW Laborer – Full-Time | Village of Elk Rapids, MI
Position Overview
The Village of Elk Rapids is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join the Department of Public Works (DPW) as a full-time Laborer.
This position is responsible for a wide range of manual labor and maintenance duties that support the Village’s infrastructure, utilities, and public spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· – Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities
· – Assist in water distribution and wastewater system operations
· – Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment
· – Perform seasonal duties such as mowing, trimming, and leaf pickup
· – Participate in snow and ice removal operations, including plowing and salting
· – Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotations
· – Follow all safety procedures and workplace standards
· – Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
· – High school diploma or GED
· – Valid driver’s license required
· – Ability to obtain CDL preferred
· – Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions
· – Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
