We are looking for an experienced Site Safety Representative to support safety activities on an active construction site. The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of construction safety experience and a strong working knowledge of site safety practices, inspections, incident response, and safety documentation.
The Site Safety Representative will work closely with site supervision, workers, subcontractors, and management to help maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organized worksite.
Key Responsibilities
The Site Safety Representative will be responsible for:
- Conducting regular site safety inspections and identifying unsafe conditions or work practices.
- Following up on corrective actions and confirming deficiencies are corrected.
- Assisting with incident investigations, including gathering statements, documenting findings, identifying contributing factors, and recommending corrective actions.
- Preparing and maintaining safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, toolbox talks, orientations, and safety meeting records.
- Reviewing, developing, and updating safe work procedures and site-specific safety documents.
- Monitoring compliance with company safety policies, site rules, and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.
- Supporting supervisors and workers with hazard assessments, work planning, and safe work practices.
- Participating in toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and worker orientations.
- Communicating safety concerns clearly and professionally to site supervision and management.
- Promoting a positive safety culture on site.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably on high-rise, commercial, or multi-residential construction sites.
- Strong understanding of construction hazards, inspections, incident investigations, and safe work procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and construction safety standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate safety reports.
- Ability to work independently and follow up on safety issues in a timely manner.
- Good judgment, attention to detail, and confidence communicating with workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Valid safety training certificates considered an asset, including First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, and other construction-related training.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a strong asset.

We are looking for someone who is practical, organized, and proactive. The successful candidate must be comfortable walking the site, speaking with workers and supervisors, documenting safety concerns, and following through until issues are corrected.
