Position Summary
The Class A Truck Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, lubrication services, inspections, and basic mechanical repairs on Class A commercial trucks and vocational equipment. The technician helps ensure all vehicles operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting company quality standards and manufacturer recommendations.
This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on Class A commercial trucks.
- Change engine oil and replace oil filters.
- Replace fuel filters, air filters, hydraulic filters, and cabin air filters as required.
- Lubricate chassis, suspension, steering, driveline, and other grease points.
- Inspect engine, transmission, differential, and hydraulic fluid levels.
- Inspect and top off coolant, DEF, power steering, windshield washer fluid, and other vehicle fluids.
- Perform basic inspections of brakes, steering, suspension, tires, lighting, and driveline components.
- Check tire condition and air pressure.
- Identify fluid leaks, worn components, or other maintenance concerns and report findings.
- Assist senior technicians with repairs and installations when needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company safety policies.
- Operate shop equipment safely, including lifts, jacks, grease systems, and fluid dispensing equipment.
- Follow OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience performing preventative maintenance on commercial trucks preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely work underneath commercial vehicles.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate hand and power tools.
Preferred Experience
Experience working on:
- Class 7 and Class 8 commercial trucks
- Diesel engines
- Air brake systems
- Hydraulic systems
- PTO systems
- Fuel delivery equipment
- Lubrication trucks
- Concrete mixer experience preferred

Working Conditions
This position is performed in a heavy-duty truck service environment with exposure to moving equipment, oils, grease, fuel, hydraulic fluids, loud noises, and changing temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.

Pay: $28.65 – $34.50 per hour
