Job Summary
The Certified Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey from mental health and substance use challenges. Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them navigate their recovery process.
  • Utilize personal recovery experiences to inspire and motivate clients.
  • Conduct group sessions focusing on coping strategies, life skills, and recovery planning.
  • Assist clients in developing individualized recovery plans that align with their goals.
  • Facilitate access to community resources and support services.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary to ensure client safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support.

Experience

  • Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, or social work is preferred.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health systems and crisis management techniques.
  • Strong skills in motivational interviewing and mentoring individuals facing challenges.
  • Experience in crisis intervention is a valuable asset.
  • A deep understanding of the recovery process from both a personal and professional perspective.

This role is essential for fostering resilience and independence among clients as they work toward achieving their personal recovery goals.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $15.11 – $23.85 per hour
