As a Youth Mentorship Administrative Assistant, you will act as the first point of contact between youth-serving community agencies and the Calgary Police Service (CPS). You will provide support as required to the Youth Mentorship team to facilitate the front-line services. You will also assist members in the coordination of ongoing program development initiatives and processes. Primary duties include:

Act as a main contact for the Calgary Police Cadet Corps, Powerplay and Junior Police Academy with parents, external partners, and general public.

Provide administrative support to the Youth Mentorship team.

Assist in coordinating program activities, meetings, schedules and appointments.

Act as a program resource when representing Calgary Police Cadet Corps and CPS for city-wide youth initiatives.

Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms and other documentation.

Develop and foster strong professional relationships to ensure optimum support and engagement.

Qualifications

A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., G.E.D.) and a minimum of 5 years of secretarial and administrative experience.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required.

Previous experience in a law enforcement environment will be considered an asset.

Success in this position requires excellent communication skills, multi-tasking abilities and ability to focus on results. Provide excellent customer service and ability to maintain confidentiality. Relationship and team building skills to help in employee engagement, efficiency and thoroughness with the ability to manage stress levels effectively.

Pre-employment Requirements

An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.

Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $33.33 – 44.60 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
