Role Description
We are seeking a Business Analyst – level 2 – to support technology projects across data, applications, and infrastructure. The Business Analyst will help translate business requirements into technical specifications, support requirements elicitation, backlog management, test data creation, testing, and confirmation that business and technical requirements meet specifications. The role will also gather, document, and refine user requirements and user stories to support a variety of IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements elicitation and documentation in various formats (e.g., user stories, Business Requirements Document).
- Translate business requirements into technical data specifications and analytical models
- Perform business analysis of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows
- Evaluate existing procedures and methods, including database content, structure, and integrated application subsystems
- Analyze and map existing business models and operations and identify areas for improvement
- Analyze and evaluate existing business processes
- Define and document interfaces between manual and automated operations, external systems, and new/existing systems
- Establish acceptance test criteria with the client
- Develop and establish service level agreements
- Support business process standards and organizational methodologies
- Assist in the development of organizational methodologies and tools
- Analyze and develop business success critical success factors
- Support architecture requirements design, process development, process mapping, and training
- Support business strategy and processes for transformation and change management activities
- Participate in change impact analysis and organizational realignment
- Coordinate training development and stakeholder engagement
- Create presentations, present to stakeholders, and facilitate meetings
- Document data definitions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Clean, transform, and model structured and semi-structured datasets
- Validate transformations across Bronze / Silver / Gold layers (Databricks/lakehouse)
- Perform data reconciliation and identify discrepancies
- Create and manage test datasets to support development and testing
- Support data quality validation and reconciliation processes
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, pipelines, and business rules
- Define test scenarios covering business use cases and edge cases, including integration and non-functional requirements
- Work closely with the Delivery/Integration Lead for UAT coordination and readiness, including test cases, test data creation, and conducting UAT.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous relevant experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience working in Azure DevOps or similar environments
- Ability to use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to review data
- Understanding of SQL scripts and PowerShell scripts
Assets :
Experience with Azure DevOps, Databricks, SQL, the Microsoft ecosystem, and enterprise data platform initiatives (e.g., large-scale data migrations)
